Finally a gobbler down
« on: May 19, 2013, 07:46:23 PM »
The Spring turkey season in PA for some has been different, at least for me in my part of the state.  Birds have been henned up and would answer a call but would not come into a call for a shot.  I called in plenty of hens and the gobblers would stay out of range.  That all changed for me on Friday May 17th.  I was able to give this gobbler a certified Lapp dance and he was a good one too.  17lbs, 10 1/4" beard and had spurs 1 3/8 " this was my best gobbler ever.  I was blessed to take him.  And McKamey it took awhile to get one because I had to find one with a tail. Not like my fall bird.... ROTFLMBO

The Lapp dance refers to the call I used which is one made by good friend Mike Lapp

Bob, Congrats again on a slammer!  Thanks again for stopping by today, it was great to spend some time with you....I apologize for having my shop such a mess....actually, you got to see it on a normal day, when I don't have time to clean it up before people come over!  Those are some dandy hooks on that bird, thanks for bringing them by to show me.  Congrats again on a great Pennsylvania gobbler. *up* *up*
