Mini Turpin style caller
« on: February 23, 2013, 08:48:33 PM »
This was a project I have been wanting to do for a while. Haven't made one of these in a few years.  A mini turpin style boxcall.  Walnut body with a birdseye lid. The grain in this lid is outstanding.  As you mite expect from a walnut and hard maple call, it is high on the front end and has some crazy raspy stuff on the back. Especially on the rite. I want to thank Mr. E for his valuable input. A helping hand ( or word  ;)) is always welcome in my shop friend! Put her in with an Eddleman box and an old True Tone for scale. Heard a rumor that another callmaker was working along these same lines too...

Sweet looking caller. I've made a few smaller Turpins myself and really like the sound that comes from the smaller call and it's easier to carry in the vest.

Speak softly, and carry a BIG stick...and if that doesn't work, get a LOUD one!

Was wondering when you were going to post that call up LT.  Great job my friend.  I'll have to plan a trip to WV to hear it in those WV woods. *up* *up* *up*

Must have missed this one, sweet one LT and you sure picked a nice slice of birdseye.  Did ya get that nasty growl on the bottom that Mr E gets?  Would love to hear that one.
