Well, it's about here, I leave this Thursday for a Nebraska bowhunt. My hunting partner couldn't wait headed up this past Saturday, was supposed to be cold and Rainey and he was just gonna do some scouting. As luck would have it, Saturday and Sunday were both sunny, he rooster two birds on Saturday eve and was set up on them early the next morn, they gobbled good on the roost but just occasionally when they hit the ground. After about 30 min. He decided to try to fire them up, started cutting and loud yelping and mixed in some Gobbles, that was all it took, here they came, when they topped the rise and saw his decoys it was a race to the Jake, didn't even look at the hen, just started flogging the Jake. The biggest bird never knew what hit him as the Arrow took him through the back. The other bird saw his chance and started flogging both the Jake and his fallen buddy. He stayed for at least 20 min. Mark didn't want to shoot him the same day so he finally left.
Mark pulled his blind and said he has one located for me when I arrive. Now that's a great hunting partner. Good luck to all you arrow slingers this spring, will keep you posted.
