Last hurrah in Tennessee for 2015
« on: May 18, 2015, 10:54:37 AM »
The last two days of Tennessee season was spent with two great friends. Saturday found Brian Watts and I on my mountain land here in town--we worked a bird but a hen won the battle as she took him away. We spent the better part of the morning trying to locate another to no avail. We left the mountain for some valley farm land birds. We had two great hunts one at a time. I tagged out and ole Brian had his luck change on a bird with beard rot. Nothing like taking the season out with a buddy and having fun. Guess the memory will have to last us until next season now. Sunday found Watts and I with Aubie on one of his tracks where ole Aubie did battle with a longbeard that me and Watts were with him on. Ole Aubie had the bird at 42@ yds , with the hen he was on at 30 and closing on us(safety off), when the longbeard turned and went over the hill to another hen he decided offered more that us or the real one....ole Aubie had a few chile words to describe the bird, but it was still a great way to end the 2015 Tennessee season with two great friends. Hope everyone that's still after them has as much fun as we had....
