Busted at the Gate

Don't you hate it when they act like they have more sense than you do.   I got in a new club in the Ms. Hills due to the river coming up fast this year.  Scouted last weekend and from sign,  found a gobbler and a hen not far onto the property near a nice hardwood bottom.   Opening day this AM.,  I drive 2 1/2 hrs. to get there plenty early since it was foggy and It was way the heck back in the sticks.  Now get this,  I purposely parked on the road and did not even open the gate.  I walk around the gate, take 10 steps, and the big turkey busts me in the dark.  I bet he was watching me get out of the car and suit up.  I bet he saw me the other day and knew I was coming the following Sat.  and roosted over the gate just to piss me off.  -----   Well he did.  My luck has got to improve this season.  Mr. E

When he gets in your head is when the fun begins, ain't it jeff. He just about wore Mr. E out yesterday. I slept in, but plan on giving him some afternoon Delight

I had an occasion where they decided to roost in the trees directly above where I park my truck.  I busted them when I closed the door of my truck.  It was better than an hour before daylight. Sure ruins a good hunting day.  Keep after them John.
