What the magic mailbox brought me
« on: March 28, 2014, 10:30:34 AM »
Well last night was painful for me.  I knew a package had went to the house, but I didn't really know what it was.

When I got home, I lit up like a Christmas Tree.  I have a deep passion for push pin callers.  I am obsessed with them.  I've killed a lot of birds and I started my hunting career on an Ashby Push Pin back in the days.   That call was so special to me, I have put it away.  I should have bought more back in the days, but I didn't :(

Anyways, in 2011 I got a Push Pin from Mike Lapp.  It was an osage push pin and I realized it was probably one of the only ones in that wood he had made.  I have that caller put up and in a very safe place!!!

I never dreamed I would end up with another Osage Push Pin, but here she is and all I can say is... wow!!!!  I've been playing it all morning and I'm about to head out the door to go scouting!!!!  This call has got my blood pumping big time!!!

Sometimes in life, you need to go back to the beginning.  I'm going to dedicate this season to the push pin caller.  I cannot wait to show my friend that got me started hunting.  He has a love for this call almost as deep as I do!!!

Mike you did this Osage wood a lot of good!  The yelps are so awesome and purring and cutting on this call is a breeze.  I admit, I woke my son up to the sounds of turkeys this morning!!!!

Mike should have checkered that one to look like, corn on the cob. Just toss that on the ground, about 25 yds. out, and sit back. Nice call, Porter and Mike!   *up* *up* *up* *up*
