Sorry if I haven't been keeping up with post's on the board..have turkey fever and been hunting hard. We've had some exciting hunts and frustrations as well..All the land we hunt is public land so you never know who else is in there. It's been a different season this year, I think our birds were behind a little, we had rain, snow and sleet for quite a stretch before the season opened. Now it's even more challenging as they are catching up, and tactics change. My brother Jon dropped the hammer on another fine gobbler this week, his second double bearded tom this season, using one of my calls, a Holly and Ebony short box..soft calling and the right set up sealed the deal for him.
21 lbs..double beard 10" and 7", sharp curved 1 3/8ths spurs
Here is his first one this season..another nice double beard..I don't think he want's to give me my call back,lol
