Good one today and got the monkey off my back after eating my tags last year. The spot I hunted was the same area I hunted yesterday and never heard a gobble but for some reason something told me to go back in there today so I did. The birds were gobbling real good before I ever got back in by the river. I was setting up in the same spot as yesterday when a hen yelped out in front of me on the river so I hit her with my cedar slate and she hit me right back. This went on for a bit then came fly down and it went quiet for a few before the loud mouth hen fired back up and I hit her hard with my chestnut and blackwood turpin. The birds had flown down into a field on the other side of a drainage ditch from me so I was sure they would fly back over when I heard another hen soft taking looking for me.I called to her once and put the calls down waiting to see what would happen. Well the rest of the crew decided they needed to be in this field and after a few fights I had some of the hens and the gobbler heading my way. I took this guy at 20 yards after another fight broke out which gave me a chance to get my gun up as he was in front of me at 15 feet facing dead on at one point and i couldn't move. I will say this. during one of the fights I heard a hen make a call that I have never heard in the woods or any where else before. It was awesome listening to these birds today with the killing of the gobbler to top it off.  Stats 21lbs 8oz 9 3/4 beard with 1" and 1 1/8" spurs
