ShadeTree Callers in Florida - Picture heavy
« on: March 29, 2012, 04:38:49 PM »
Last week I was able to make a long anticipated trip to Florida to chase Osceolas . I was invited by two of my good friends . They treated me to a great time hunting turkeys and hogs and some even better cameraderie. After a short flight to Orlando I was picked up at the airport and headed straight to the Deseret Ranch southeast of Orlando . This is a 290,000 acre working cattle ranch that is filled with wildlife . We spent every evening driving around on the swamp buggy looking for hogs and roosting gobblers . And every morning we could be found in the cypress swamps and cattle pastures looking for lonely gobblers . We had alot of success calling in jakes and hens but the gobblers spent their days with the real thing unfortunately . We came close to putting a tag on a longbeard and had several opportunities at young birds . I saw so much game on this trip, and can't wait til next year . Before I left Florida I made sure to set plans for next April ! Here's a few pictures of my trip .

Dang Bob, I thought McKamey had some big tracts of land to hunt. 290,000 acres must be like paradise. Beautiful pics.
