I recently had a special request for an African Blackwood trumpet with a more traditional turpin style design. The buyer also wanted the mouthpiece made from buffalo horn. I've never made a buffalo horn mouthpiece before so I thought it would make for an interesting build. Turning the buffalo horn takes a little more time and dulls my chisels more but it works very nice. Sounds great too. It certainly won't be the last time I use it. The ferrule is .308 nickel brass.

Very nice Brian. That buffalo stinks and tastes horrible, but once the dust is out of it, it sounds great.
