Title: A WV Classic
Post by: fargobox on January 16, 2012, 05:17:59 PM
Well my shop sure did smell purdy while working this call...this is Ipe, with stunning gold color over sweet Sassafras with alternating inlays.  Gotta say, this will be the 1st and only time I burn Sassy...what a nightmare, it is hard and soft between growth rings and burns very uneven so I was restricted to a simple wing feather where I could hide the marks and a Sassy branch on the other rail.  Hope the hunter likes it anyway.  The sound...well she'll beller the hollows and ridges of WV for sure with a classic high start to a smooth long rolling raspy bark on the right rail and a clearer tone pitch and not as raspy (younger hen) in the left rail. This is another of my "Hunter Series" with classic lines and all turkey--thanks for the look and I'll be expecting bloddy pics from the hunter this spring.

WOW!  Somehow this call ended up at my house and it AIN'T LEAVING (except to go to the woods with me ;)).  A killer sassafrass call that has that sassy "twang" that I love!  Runs so easy even a caveman can do it too!  You don't have to look for the sound or find the sweet spots....its just all sweet! :o  Witter you been cranking them out lately and each one is a gem.  Folks, I've seen and run a lot of calls in my days...this one is a good 'un! *up*
