What is Bill? That the feds are allowing eagles to be killed or for the feds are even involved? Just curious. Your opinion is plain but I don't see which way.

I think it is crap that they (Feds) would allow this, all in the name of "green energy"! You can't even pick up an Eagle feather off the ground, legally, unless you are a native American.
Bill
The law: “Anyone who possesses an eagle feather, and doesn't meet the requirements, could face fines up to $100,000 and a year in prison. A second offense is upgraded from a misdemeanor to a felony, and carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The act also provides for a civil penalty of up to $5,000.”

I agree somewhat but, isn't it also a compromise for the right wing libertarian platform that government shouldn't even be involved? When the far left and the far right meet in the middle it seems like the best way to get an honest middle. Unlike "some of our government" todays world.

Since Eagles mate for life, I see it as a possibility of destroying three mating pairs......not some political social engineering project.

Agreed! It's not all about the self rightous left, the corporate greedy right or anti government neo's. It's about management. That is how it's supposed to be, but that being said, on the other hand management also includes the human aspect. I think at times people forget about the core issue, management.
*cheers*
I hope I didn't highjack your thread?

As far as the article, I took it as you earlier stated but also I took it as a company trying to do what is right by following the rules and not waiting until the *poo* hits the fan so to speak, then worry about the consequences. I didn't take it as them asking to kill "take" 3 birds. I took it as trying to avoid problems down the road knowing there have been problems with raptors and the windmills in other areas. I too am surprised that they were granted the permit.
-
i bet that permit's harder to draw than an Arizona elk tag.

NO DOUBT---many dollers from a PACK have been involved here.
UN BELIEVABLE that it was even considered....but for green ---anything goes these days it seems
this is as ya'll have pointed out----- *poo* *poo* *poo* *poo* *poo* *poo*

While in Portland, OR at a business meeting I talked to a guy from there and from the Midwest that said the "incidental" killing of native birds from the constructed energy windmills was a very hot topic and had a lot of people up in arms.
Basically they are trying to cover thir butts because they know it will kill birds once they install them. I would be interested in how big the fines are for any bird over 3 that are taken. There is no way to stop a bird from flying into them. Sounds crazy to me.

ever hear of a snail darter? ...or a spotted owl? seems to me that those two little critters shut down some pretty big projects in the name of conservation when it suited the left-wing adjenda. But now that the same conservation of another endangered species is conflicting with the left's insatiable appetite for "green" energy (no matter how inefficient), that critter is just S-O-L! typical hypocrisy of the left!
I hear we've got an election coming up..... USA

Excellent point made with your scenario Barefoot! You need to run for a seat or perhaps you are already in the political arena?
