Safe travels as well.....
-
Good Luck and have a safe trip.
Jon *dance*
-
wackem and stackem.. be safe *gobble*
-
The stories from this trip should be priceless. Marlin already has all his calls hidden from them and I think instead of his usual Byrne Turkey Dogs, he has two french poodles for them ROTFLMBO. Good Luck Marlin and good luck Tim and Jeff. Should be some fun if the weather holds up for them.
-
Sounds like a great trip! ;D
-
Good luck Marlin...... Those guy's are crazy!!! ::)
-
I hope Billy Bob and Joe Bob don't tag along. Marlin is gonna be missin' some calls if they do!
Tom
-
Good Luck yall!
-
Well I actually talked with these two hoodlums on their trip yesterday afternoon, and while I couldn't be sure of course I thought I heard something in the back of the truck...muffled sounding and while ole Bullock was driving, Heck Snakeboots could hardly speak coherantly by that point in the ride and I am sure he was kniving some wicked plan in the shotgun seat. I suspect Ole Marlin, however, is prepared for these characters and he'll have the dogs under wraps. Yes sir, hunting in the fall with these two ought to prove to be a real late night news-breaking story for sure. We all need to stay tuned to a theater near you *lol*
-
Well Ole Tim was the first to connect again in Ohio this year and got himself a fine Thanksgiving turkey. Congrats Tim. Now its Ole Snakeboots turn! *up*

Well today was an awesome day. Ole Kee Kee busted a flock this morning and we worked hard for a couple of hours but no luck. Kee Kee worked hard but we couldn't close the deal. We stayed at it and then dropped by the house to let Kee Kee rest and get a snack and then off again with Cutter. In no time she had busted a flock and it was game on!! We set up and within 30 minutes I had payed the smackdown on one! It was a great end to an awesome day of hunting with good friends ! Even Snakeboot. Poor guy broke snakeboot shoelaces and was turkey less! *lol*. We are going after one for him in the morning. Stay tuned!!
-
Man we all know who the good looking one is in that picture--CUTTER! *bannana* ROTFLMBO keep rooling them fellas!
-
Congrats Tim!! Good luck to you guys in the morning and be sure to leave a few for me! *up* Who is the feller on the far left in the second pic? ;D Have him gobble on one of Marlins boxes for you, he is GOOD!
-
Oh no!, not the broken shoelace trick, he didn't have to go back to the house to get another shoelace? Hmmmm, Marlin better check his stash of calls, ole snkeboot could be up to something....... *lol*
-
Congrats, Tim.... RkLu
Is Jeff having trouble keeping up????? I know, Marlin can walk forever... *wha*
Keep a CLOSE eye on the ole' boy......
-
Well today is the last chance for Ole Snakeboot (AKA Black Cloud) to score one in Ohio. Weather has been a bear......thats right there were lions and tigers and bears, oh my, loose in Ohio. He should have signed up for that hunt. He needs a larger trophy for the house or showroom. Anyway, Good Luck Jeff, there is always the super market (Krogers) on the way home to pick up a turkey......
-
The weather is going to be bad today. Cold, rainy and windy. Hey Snakeboots, don't you lose any of those strikers. *lol*
Hunt safe y'all and have fun.
-
Well...rolled in last night after 2am !!
Guess I will sit back and let ole "SPARKY" enjoy his MOMENT of fame here *bowing* *bowing*----yep--he was the only one to dent a primer. *wha* *cool*..there is a story there also---I will just see if it comes out on its own *peep*.
Got to say the anticipation with this trip has to be one of the highest of any turkey hunting I do each year....to be allowed to hunt with Marlin and the kids is beyond words in my opnion. He is a great friend to us ,and heck of a hunter and he has some great dogs to boot!!!
We didnt have much weather to help us but the kids did break at least two flocks every day , we just couldnt get lady luck lined up to close the show. As time went on ..and on...the jousting became worse and worse from the guys *lol*. Somehow they came up with a new knickname for me other than snakeboots....I think I like the snakeboots nickname better....and yes---the snakeboots were strapped high and tight my friends !!!! RkLu. After the ribbing I got at the local breakfast place last year---I got creative and pulled my pants over the boots this year ;)---all was quiet in that arena !!
I did come home without a NITRO fix though, but I gotta say that Marlin can go ...and go...and go. That man is driven and worked very very hard to get a bird in front of me. Heck---we would still be after them if we didnt have to get back for today. Ronnie, it was great sharing the woods with ya man, I really enjoyed it and hope to again soon.
Marlin....I want to thank you for your kindness with the invitation and allowing my boots in your woods friend. Like I said, it is not only a priveledge, but a trip that ranks at the very top in all my turkey hunting dramas!!!!
-
I have to re-state what "Black Cloud"( aka Snakeboot) *lol* has already said it is a true pleasure to enjoy the woods with Marlin and the girls...It always is a fun and exciting time that i look forward to each fall...I hope we can keep the tradition going for many falls to come...We went after em hard...although the weather was bad Marlin kept after em and we covered some ground...It was a pleasure....Heres a few pics to enjoy *lol*

So that is Billy Bob and Joe Bob. Jeff the weather beat you and not your skills for sure. I see know one is saying if they left Ohio with anything from Marlins place. Tim, You didn't hear any dog barking on the ride home did you? If I know Jeff, something is in his possesion that you may have wanted...
Glad you guys made it back safely and had a great time. I am sure there are more details to come either on this post or another. Jeff, I will be checking my e-mail for details. I hope you had full hearing protection for the trip.
-
full hearing protection was not enough for this trip ....just ask Ronnie. He had the mis-fortune of having to share sleeping quarters with Bobble head. The first two nights were not to his standard--he didnt snore that loud for him....but the third night----wow :o.
I have to sleep with ear plugs around him....and even a pillow over my head with earplugs didnt remotly dampen the sonic blast comming from him. How can a human make that much noise and one---not hurt himself, and secondly -continue to sleep while doing it.
I even got up two times and did nothing short of dragging him into the floor to wake him up , to no avial !! He couldnt be woke !! But he sure did look cute snuggled up to his extra pillow like he was at home snuggled up to his teddy bear !!! (pics may follow)-the balls in his court here...he has been pretty persistant in the ribing he has dished out from my streak of somewhat stellar luck !! *lol*
Somehow---with the 30 mph winds though, when the front door flew open at 3 in the morning---that woke him up----will never figure that one out !! ???
-
Next year make sure he only drinks tea or lemonade. Alcohol makes snoring worse. I want to see the teddy bear pics, they should be great. You might have to hold them off for another time.
-
Tim and Jeff
Glad we had the opportunity to hunt together again. Always enjoy your company. Today the weather was the same we caught a flock of 28 birds in a field and still did not get one killed. Gary B and I had a gobbler standing 25 yards from us for 5 minutes and Gary E with the gun was 20 yards down over the bank. I guess that's hunting. Will post pictures and stories when I get back to work in dec. Sooner
-
I dont think I ever killed a turkey sleeping in a stuck vehicle in a open field without a gun either Jeff.
Maybe you were set up on this hunt?
Jon *lol*
-
Sooner, I can't wait till December then, cause your version will be different than the two Amigo's. Enjoy the rest your season in Ohio and New York.
-
Snakeboots you let ole bobble head beat you? From what I hear, he paid off Marlin and made sure he had success while you struggled.. but then again... Bobble Head probably knew you cannot fall asleep in the Mule and get a bird ROTFLMBO
Marlin I'm not sure how you put up with these two yahoos... probably hurt your dogs feelings that they are so ugly *lol*
I know how much they look forward to the trip and glad you got to wear these two bozos out!!!! *peep*
-
* hi * Couldn't ya' see ol' Bobble Head all snuggled up with his favorite Teddy Bear??? .....ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO
-
"Black could" and "Snake bit" were just a couple of the nick names Bullock,Marlin and Ronnie came up to keep the dagger in deep and twisted. They had fun watching me and my one UNDENTED primer come home to Tennessee. .... ROTFLMBO, but it was all in great fun even if it was ON ME *wha* ;D.
Ole Ronnie got a heavy dose of Bullcks snoring.
He woke us up the last evening snoring so loud I couldnt even wake him to tell him to chill. I went over there and to my surprise---this is what I saw......I figured Tim would give me ample reason to bring him public with the sight Ronnie and I saw....figured its time to share it sinse Bullock wants to name me "BLACK CLOUD" now.....
paybacks....paybacks....paybacks Tim ;D ;) ROTFLMBO *lol*

Look at that.. and the pacifier right by his hand... you should have put that in his mouth and he'd quit snoring...
Wonder if he was dreaming of cabbage patch dolls *peep*
-
I kinda liked his cute little snap up footies his wife sent for him to nighty nighty in........... ;D

Now thats funny stuff!!!! *aah* . Jeff I bet it was real hard getting him up in the mornings and getting him ready. Did you have to lay his hunting outfit out for him also? *lol* *lol* *lol* *lol* *lol*
-
Jeff, I bet Tim will want a "Baby Blue" Hat..... *aah*
-
when we left there was a odor I knew I had smelled in my past---ya know----when ya have infants and the whole house smells like baby powder....well---it was his luggage I came to discover.
I wander if we can find that baby blue with little teddy bears motif printed on it ??? ::) ;D

Those danged car salesmen will get you every time, Tim! *lol*
