I have a mullberry and cherry combo. The call sounds wonderful on both sides. Problem is the call has developed a squeak on the back stroke. One one side. Tuning on this call is not finished but is pretty darn close. Any Ideas on how th fix said problem? Do I try to tune it out or just fugetaboutit!! *lol*

HELP!!!!!!!!!

You have a high spot on the rail it dont take much to get a squeak.

Jon is right.  Squeaks are almost always a problem with the shape of the rails.  Usually I find if you round the rail a little it will go away.  You should be able to figure out where it is rubbing by slowly running the call and seeing where the paddle touches the rail when you hear the squeak.

clean the chalk of the call caulk it good and run it on the back stroke you will see it .there is several factors cause this .two are the mechanics and the wood .you got side view photo ?

 Not having played the call, my first thought is the lid spring. Like the others have mentioned, a high spot on the sound board will give a squeek or screech.

It could be either the spring making noise (your screw may not be centered, or not straight up and down) and the back stroke may be causing some tension on the spring, or it could be a high spot on a rail.  I had one this weekend that did just this and it was a high spot.  They can be tough to see and find and even harder to sand out without causing uneven issues with the other rail.  Good luck!
