Got this sent to me and was wondering if there was any truth to it
The following post was made on Osage Roost last night and it sure ruffled a few feathers real fast. Dcoleinpa yanked the thread and banned the person real quick. I guess they don't want the truth floating around out there for all to see. What a douche bag and a bunch of dumbasses!
Boy were you all taken for a big time pony ride with this auction deal. Porter scammed you all without even trying real hard to do so.
Did any of you all ever think to look into how much he really has invested into this website as a whole?
The software that he uses by Simple Machines cost him NOTHING. Its absolutely FREE!!!

Then there is the server space. Porter uses very little server space for this site and he has said it before himself that he uses a buddies server to host the site. He can't be paying more than $200 to $300 TOPS a year to host this site and that is being very generous too.
And you all just handed him $2400+ to upgrade the site for you. Man you all got took for a big time ride. This should go down a Classic Hose Job.
I do wonder why all of you would donate your hard earn work and material to upgrade his site when he already has tons of calls sitting around his office that he could of auctioned off if he was that hard up for operating capital. Just how many of those calls were "given" to him as we all know that he surely didn't buy each and every one of them. Think about it and you may just realize that you took the Big Green Weenie up the back 40.

Now I speak the truth and if this post gets removed or I get banned over it then it just proves that Porter has a heck of a lot to hide from you all cuz he bent you all over backwards real hard

For one thing everyone should know that noone has handed Mike any money that he can use for his own benefits. It is being placed in an account that will be monitored and all money spent will be accountable for and used to better this site . The info on where the money is spent will be available to all members . It is true that Mike has enough great callers laying shamelessly in piles that he could fund alot of things, but they are his and he can treat them how he wants to. Mike spends $360 a year out of his own pockets , just so that we can ALL have a place to visit! This auction was the idea of Brent Stoner and Mike had nothing to do with it . All items were donated by callmakers and collectors who love this site and only want to give back a little so that we can all have a place to visit and talk turkey ! This was done by members of this site , NOT the administrator !! We care enough to try to ensure that we will always have this great site to show our calls and talk with friends ! LONG LIVE THE OSAGE ROOST !!!!!! OH YEAH ...CLEAN UP THAT ROOM MIKE !!! Or send those calls to me , LOL !!!
As for removiong this post ... trash like this HAS to be taken out !!!

Sorry guys in a brief nutshell I'll explain. Is there any truth to this... no... what I find comical is when someone brings my name down and the sites, but does no background checks on who I really am. Yes we all know I'm a geek at heart... how many people know what my degree is in... I bet none of you can guess. Bet none of you can guess what my first job was either? You know what the real love of my life is... nope not going to get that either.
Let me explain it right here.... I've audited more cities, departments, and governments than probably all of you combined... Not bragging, but when you go through the accounting program I have, you know one thing... checks and balances. It's the only way to have respect and show funds are not being abused. From day one, I said I would not accept the funds. Several members here know that and many know why I said that. To be fair and run a great site, it was needed to be done. You had to have some separation of the money from me too. Otherwise I knew people like the original pot stirrer would say I would be using the money for calls. It's kind of like the "rumor" I always here I receive free calls. I pay my way... it's the only way I do business with people!
So is it true, not at all. It's someone that is upset at me and thinks they know everything. Whoever posted has very "old" information and to be honest, I had a good chuckle over it. I would expect someone that is going to drag my name down, to do more research, but then again, they were very lazy about it. Probably showed their true intellect.

Maybe a good audit of the original poster is in store... oh and I know you are still viewing this and yes I know who you are :) It's lovely to have a server of your own (not one that is your friends *peep*) You know.. .nah I'm glad I'm a geek at heart *lol*

Hope it was a simple honest Question man.
Dont know ya and will give the benefit of the doubt. I posted a update this morning on the auction tab under Gitzits post after the last call was finally able to be sent out. All expenses are accounted for and the real total balance is final.
Bob's answer is SPOT ON !!!
You can look at that post and see more of what Bob reveailed stated from earlier today.
Not a attack at you as I do not know you, but its funny the other attack was from who knows that did not donate a single item to the cause. Why dont those sort of guys let the ones that did donate worry about this ?????
I know some PM's went out with that in them is why I am giving ya benefit of the doubt here...not that I have any administrative authority on this site what so ever.

Great post Richard. Porter had nothing to do with the auction and did not ask a single one of us to donate. We gave as friends...which the poster yesterday evidently knows nothing about. I enjoy this site also and it is really funny how people come here and then complain about it....I have the same opinion as Richard...if you don't like it here....leave and stop loitering....

I posted the total after the last call was shipped out today. It is updated under Auction post under the auction tab. I referred to a little about what this gentlemans question was. I did get a pm asking if I got the pm hunter1018 posted---they(copies of that post) were flying around in his defense from the other post that was deleted.
Bobs relpy was dead on---Porter never knew about this in the begining, it was done entirely vounteraly by members as a way to help the site for all. Porter nor any of us ever asked for donations, guys heard about it and contacted to donate.
All the money is accounted for and Porter does not have control of as he requested from the very begining. This is a very important fact to remember here.

Well I for one did not donate. Had plans to but just didn't have the time to work on a call for the Auction. Oh well there is always another time. I sure tried to bid every call I could up on that auction and DARN it I didn't get a one of em. *lol* *lol*
Those calls were willingly donated. Because the makers enjoy the freedom and atmosphere of this site. Unlike other sites who ban call makers who don't pony up for advertising or offer fringe benefits to the site owners. We like to come here and post for the benefit of all. What's the matter with Porter's room? Looks a lot like mine I can see close to thirty calls right here around my computer. Were all Nerd's like Porter or we wouldn't be here!!!! We have an addiction to calls and turkeys, this is the place we gather to discuss both! I hope your got you needed info *cheers*.
PS: I hope you stick around and enjoy the place more!!! Just quit stirring up *poo*.

If I honestly thought there was an ounce of truth to these rumors I would not have a account on here. Porter is a honest guy through and through.

I got that PM from someone and don't know who they are...so I figured I'd ask over here. Not sure if anyone remeber the CCO days when it seemed every fundraiser was a scam...so not knowing I asked...I see no problem with that. As long as the money goes to where it is said then it's no skin off my nose

I am one of the call makers that donated to the auction. I can tell you right now if I thought for one minute these funds were going to be used for anything other than to better the site you can bet my donation would have been non-existant. I really enjoy coming here and seeing all the talent that resides here and to talk turkey and am thankful that I could help out. For any nay sayers that want to start *poo* if you don't have concrete proof to back what you are drumming up go away. Send a pm and keep it private.

Feel ole Rob may need the benefit of the doubt here. His question may have been honest and ligitimate as I know someone that was copied just as Rob stated in his post about that deffinate malicious post from the other evening that was rightfully removed----non of us need that *poo* here.
Nothing wrong with a good honest question as long as its intention is right to begin with.

Wonder if this Porter character is going to buy a Porche or a Toyota with all this auction money... from reading the posts it is very clear that all money is accounted for. Sort of crazy how people get so upset over such a trivial amount money. Truth is moderating this site is probably a ton of work and probably very little reward for doing so. Especially when you have people adding their false info. I feel as though Porter should get all the money now for having to listen to this crap. Put it towards a Toyota.

If anybody has the right be pissed about the auction it would be me. I donated one of my best locust strikers. I purchased two top of the line turkey calls that I am extremely happy with. I am confident in where the money is and how it is going to be used.

I bid on the black locust striker and put $200 on it thinking that nobody would challenge me on that.. Went to dinner with my wife and bam lost it by 1 penny in the last second. I really didn't think anyone out there was as crazy as me. Had I known I would have put $300.. It sounds crazy even to me.. javascript:void(0);

Trumpetyelper, you don't know how good that makes me feel to hear that. This is why I hand make and tune my strikers and love every minute of it. To date I have had only one complaint and sadly wasn't able to rectify the issue. Maybe someday.

I did not contribute to the auction.... Would I have.....not sure actually, did'nt have time. The auction wasn't Porters idea....He paid for the calls he asked me to build for him.....and never tried to barter the price. He also puts up with alot of BS. *poo* ...alot of it from me.. ;D.....and a few more.... He is guilty of providing a place for a bunch of us to get together on.... ;D Maybe he should be shot.. :o
He does a pretty good job with this sight he provides for all of us. If yall had to depend on me for running this sight ...you would be ... *poo*...out of luck..... *cheers* Thanks Porter.............

KP ...you are right for sure. There have been statements about free calls as a perk to porter for the site---my experience in the calls he has of mine are just like yours man---he paid for em all------- and never tried to barter at all.
He provides us all a great place to share our passons and despite a little blip of drama every now and then...its a civil site. Thanks Porter once again man,,,,,,for this place ....

I'm anxious for the Missouri fall season. We've had a good hatch around Shannon County so they'll be lots of fun had.

Every call Mike has of mine he has been paid for, but if I chose to give him a call or donate one for a site that he started , it is my own danged business. There are a chitpot of so called "men" that troll these sites that need to grow up and mind their own damned selves before they go offering up any advice on how others should mind theirs.

Boy I heard a rumor that a Shannon County resident was making fun of me and some knee pad wearing fool was too. David we have a fall date set and I'll show you how to hunt those elusive Shannon County birds during the fall. Just be sure that all are hunts are downhill *lol* I think I am in better shape now... did get my dislocated leg popped back in and like an idiot... played ball on Monday and re-injured it :( Yep not only have I been putting countless hours in... I'm not too smart and do not listen to anyone :(
Knee pads... I've stayed away from challenging the volleyball player. I know I couldn't handle that now. She's went up 30lbs on lifting this summer. She's lifting more than me *cry* She's also right at 6'1". I finally convinced her to let me measure her (well the whole office did).
I'm blaming the lack of sleep!!!! *peep*
And now back to the regularly scheduled program, thanks for all the support guys... I'm not sure I deserve it with the way my summer has gone. I'm posting something up and hopefully it will explain it all!
