Had a conversation with a Older Turkey Hunting Fellow today, he brought up Gobbling on a friction call, anyone ever heard of this ??
I heard him Gobble on a slate/slate, over the phone, I must admit, I think he has a bit to go yet. ::)
Anyone ever heard, or has anyone or does anyone, Gobble on a friction call ??

Jeff, I assume you mean a slate, glass etc. and not a box. I have not heard of anyone using a slate etc.

I recall seeing a fellow with a double striker that was made special for gobbling on a friction call.
Timbo.

Harold Shields sells a cool double tipped striker that will do an amazing gobble on a potcall . You can buy them from him at Tuscarora Legend Calls or you can get them from D.D. Adams ' nephew Earl Ritzman at Mountainside Game Calls . Earl sells D.D. 's calls still . He has the rights to the caller and owns the pot molds . His prices are rediculously LOW too . I suggest buying a D.D. pot call and getting a gobber striker to go along with the one that comes with the caller . You will really like them ! Good luck !

I've never heard a gobble on any type of call that would fool me in the woods. I know a gobble-shaker tube thing will make a turkey gobble before flydown, but about anything will make him gobble if he's in the mood. I've seen a guy in Nashville with some silly gobble striker with 3 tips on it, I didn't buy one though. ::)

a box call is a friction call and can be used to gobble on .

With a lot of practice a gobble can be done on a pot call.

That may be the case, but the fact remains that I 've never heard a gobble produced by a person that was loud enough or convincing enough. I've heard gobbles by people that sounded real, but they all lacked intensity and volume.

I heard a gobbler last fall while I was bowhunting, and I would have sworn it was Marlin Watkins on a fiddle paddle !
