Title: .308 cal?

fellas I have been looking at getting a new deer rifle,  but I also wanted something that would be good for varmit as well.  I was thinking about getting a R-25 or a DMPS .308 cal.  Does anyone no anything about these models?  Does anyone have any suggestions?  THanks TJ

 Go with the DPMS. I prefer the heavy bbl myself. I have one in the 6.5 Creedmore and it is a tack driver....great for deer and varmits.

That R-25 is Heavy,wouldnt want to carry it around all day...

I am in the process of getting myself a .308 for the same thing. I have not heard anything bad about the R-25 but if you ever modify it you will have to paint it to match. So many companies make AR models that you can get inot basic models or under $800 and it gives you room to modify and make it lighter and perfect for your style of hunt. One of the biggest things I like about these guns is you can get different upper halves of the guns either .308 and a .243 and the entire lower half stays the same. I havent found the perfect one yet but I still have time. Find yourself a shop that knows a lot about AR units and your set!! Goos luck.
