Title: Meet Ole Jane’s Sister---Big Nasty

Most of you know about Ole Jane. She is just a natural born turkey killer. Well Big Nasty is her sister made from the same wormy Butternut board. And Big Nasty is one hot momma as well. Made by my buddy Chuck Anderson, she is a turned handle, curved soundboard, turkey calling machine with a Red Cedar paddle over a wormy Butternut box. She has a nasally, raspy yelp that I think will drive the gobblers crazy.

Rickey , the curved sides look alot like Marlin's design or am I seeing things wrong ? Looks like a great caller .

Bob,

The outer dimension of the curved soundboard box on Chuck's call is about 3/8" narrower than the Marlin Kwila over Butternut longbox I compared it to. The soundboard is curved like Marlin's but when you hold the two in your hand the difference is very obvious from their size. Chuck told me before that is one of the reasons his longboxes sound so good. They are not real wide like a lot of longboxes. I forgot the exact inside dimension he told me but I have seen longboxes that are twice as wide as his inside. There is no need to cant the lid or hold Chuck's any certain way. Just stroke the lid across the box and you get that two or actually three note yelp that ends in some nasty rasp.
