I haven't ever used gun broker, but need a new barrel for my favorite deer rifle. I have found one that looks interesting but don't have any experience with gun broker. Has anyone bought or sold things from there or have any tips or thoughts other than "buyer be ware"?
Thanks,
Rick

What kind of rifle do you have? It will be some trouble getting one w/out having it head spaced to your gun, unless it is a switch barrel type like an Encore.

Bill,
I have a gunsmith lined up with the proper reamer and experience to tackle the head spacing. It's a Remington 700 in .270 cal.
Thanks,

Are you buying a Remington barrel for it? You might (if you haven't already) look at a custom barrel. There are some very good ones out there and not that costly.

Bill,
I'm just thinking of getting a Rem. barrel. It's the cheapest route I can think of and money's pretty tight these days, My wife teaches elementary school and I do sheetrock work and things are not as good as they used to be.

Just for info purposes, check out E. R. Shaw barrels. They have Remington factory contour barrels starting at $130.00.

ER Shaw makes a great barrel! I have one of their slug barrels for a Benelli Super Black Eagle that is incredibly accurate.
