From Ralph Permar. This is something Ralph and I talked about in Nashville this past Feb. I wanted a full length trumpet similar to the style of the 1917. I gave Ralph a piece of Black Ash Burl at that time and thanks to Ralph's artistry, here it is! It has the internals of his 45 style trumpet but carries the 22 High Power shell.....but this one has a complete shell casing.
Thanks Ralph, it turned out better than I could have imagined!

Here is its' mate...a 1917 in Black ash Burl......the inspiration for the full size trumpet.

Everyone, Thanks for the kind words. It took a lot more time to figure out how to design the call so it responded the same as the .45, than it did to make it. I only have a few 1917s, of the 2nd limited edition to make in wood and ivory, before it is complete.
