Poor ole Jeff is obviously under a lot of stress rite now so I thought I mite divert some of the focus for a sec...
This is why we wear our "knee hi's". These are WV pics. Thought I had a couple of pics Parrish's pet cottonmouth here somewhere but... :-\
This one was laying beside the road when I pulled up. Glad he was on the passenger side!

This one was set to nail one of my water samplers. Just saw him in the nick of time. He was head back and cocked.

Never seen one in the woods and glad of it! My older brother hunted only 2 days this year, he saw so many snakes, he wouldn't go anymore.

I will not go turkey hunting without my snake boots. I had way too close a call with a cottonmouth as big around as my arm about 5 years ago in Mississippi. I was about two miles from the truck and stepping down in some water when my son saw his white mouth open and getting ready to strike. My son grabbed my arm and pulled me back. I had regular boots on that day and was had. Plain and simple.

Rickey Charlie Parrish and I were talking about cottonmouths today and he said the ones in Florida are real docile and not aggressive... I know the ones up here are bad to the bones violent!!!

Mike, I didn't say they were docile..I said they won't bite most of the time...but they act bad..just cause a snake is crawling toward you don't mean he is gonna bite you.

I am a forester in Alabama and live one mile from Florida. The only docile cottonmouths I have ever seen were dead. I have never come up on one that wasn't ready for a fight.

Charlie I think are cottonmouth and yours are not much alike... darn things will literally chase you around here.. I hate them!!! As RAJ said, a dead one is the only way they are docile here!
Of course Gators don't bother you either :)
