A Sapele lid with quatersawn cherry edge inlays over a cherry box set on a matching sapele base. This call is headed to Texas for a very patient customer. The woodburning that seems to have overtaken me I believe has come from an inspiration through the passing of my mom 3 weeks ago. I have always been able to draw...well while building calls a little bit ago she asked about drawing on the calls and then it hit me--woodburning and the rest they say is history. This caller is the raspy call I have built in several weeks..it just starts out hot, rools over real sharp and gets real raspy for the finish--just what the customer ordered--hope them Rio's like it!
Chicadees are my favorite bird and I can't tell you how many have landed on my arrow as I have sat in the tree stand over the years...they are just so curious and unafraid--just love the darn little things. As a matter of fact I had one land on the toe of boot this am while scouting under the roost :D
Thanks for looking everyone.

Thanks Bruce. Hey Mike, sit tight, I have a similer one coming tomorrow with a figured walnut lid and a cherry body that has the same big as...raspy KEE-YAWK!! At first I wasn't too sure about the edge inlays, but seeing them I really like them and they'll become a staple in my work. I really had a great response from this caller.

That is a beautiful caller. I also love the laminated edges. The wood combo is great. And the woodburned images are perfect. Love seeing it.

Well as luck would have it, I just received these pictures of 3 kills with this call. I sent the call about 4 weeks ago to a guide in Texas and he has been knocking them down. He notes that they would have had 9 kills with the call, but he is also filming the hunts and everything must be just right in order for a shot to be taken. Anyway, as the other call makers know--it don't get any better than seeing dead gobblers with your call in the pics! 2 of these birds were taken in Texas and 1 in New Mexico
