Title: #2 is down

Kill this one this morning time of death 9:02.  It was 22.5 lbs, 9.5 inch and 3/4 inch spurs. Man it was hot this morning and I had 1.5 mile walk to get to where I wanted to be. Heard about 10 different birds and went to the the closest one.,  *wha*

That turned into a hard 2 years. By the time I got to them they were already on the ground. I called the hen into about 60 yards with the Tom hanging back and never did see him. The hen went back to the Tom and they headed for the range and the green field.  I slipped out to the field and was sneaking thru some 5 foot pines. I see the tom and the hen out about 300 yards into the range. That's when I here something in the leaves. I look down and darn there is a 3 1/2 foot copperhead about the size of a 50 piece. Man ALL I could do was tell that diamondheaded sucker if it crawled away I would let it live. BUT if it stood it's ground I was going to send it to snake heaven. Well it seen things my way and the turkey was still out there.  One thing for sure I sure wasn't going to set down there.  ROTFLMBO  I moved to a rock pile and started calling. The tom was strut'n and strut'n and doing the dirty with itself. It had some much dirty I think them spur must have been 1.5 when he started.  After trying to get in front of this bird for over 2 hrs. it was joined by 4 more hens. I called one of the hens over and he came in following the ladies and I sent him to turkey heaven.

I sure wasn't in a position to argue with him. He had the upper hand. I'm just glad he listen to reason. As close as it was there was no wheres to go. He better be glad that Tom was out there Strut'n or I'd have his hide curing. One of the biggest I have seen.
