Title: a Tennessee opening day bird
Post by: jmck on April 02, 2011, 09:21:53 PM: after flydown--they flat out shut up. Stayed with it and finally coaxed a hen in the was followed by 2 longbeards. They stayed in front of me fighting for what seemed like a hour. The ole boy here was the winner of the fight, but he paid dearly for the attitude he portrayed in front on me on that poor other gobbler. A two year old...the boys on my lease had a good day---6 guys and 4 birds taken. Three of the others witnessed the same thing as I did before the shot. Looks like the birds are just settling this as far as the pecking order up on the mountains here in my parts.
The second pic is taken on the bluff overlooking the Sequatchie valley.
