Title: lightening osage
Post by: firedup on March 28, 2011, 09:38:10 PM
Well...sort of. Since the birds like to cut loose during a storm I thought this mite add a touch of good karma.  Osage Trumpet with a henbone mouthpiece.  Cartridge shell transition. The lightening inlay is chip turqoise and black onyx.  I made this for a good friend who has a lightening thing going on. Made him a box a couple years ago. Its pic is included also.

Box is walnut over cherry with figured butternut (thundercloud) and birdseye details on lid. Lightening bolt is inlayed holly.

Looks great.  The lightening bolt reminds me of the move The Natural where the bat had a lightening bolt on it.  OK nuff with movie trivia.  Great work by you on those calls

LT, every time I think you have raised the bar you seem to raise it even more--beautiful work man!  The inlay work is something I don't have a comfort level with, but hope to work it in in due time.  Sweet stuff LT *cool* *up*
