Woke up at 6 and let out my best yell, excited because today was gonna end with me frying wild bird. Got in the woods less than 100 yards from the birds I roosted the night before. Day break, owl hoot, nothing. Soft tree yelp 10 minutes later, nothing. An hour in I think I hear a bird over the ridge and start walking that way. Top the ridge, I see a head pop up 25 yards across the property line, not a Turkey head but a Guy, few seconds later 4 more guys pop up. Evidently they ran the birds off the roost on the property I'm hunting. Leave this place go to another, hear a few clucks over the course of 4 hours but no bird. 8 hours later I come home pissed off and swearing I'll never Turkey hung again......well tomorrow after church its back at it. I don't know if its the chase or the woods I like but I'll be at it again tomorrow afternoon. Hope ya'll had better luck.

Heard 2 gobblers Sat morning, called in two lone hens. Heard one Sunday morning, called in three lone hens. I will post videos shortly of something truly awe inspiring. Watched a tornado form and land several times right behind my camp Saturday evening

Hang in there, Buddy! I have noticed that some years its an opening day kill and some years you gotta hunt hard the whole season amost up to the last day to get one. Thats the beauty of Turkey hunting "You just dont know whats gonna happen and when its going to happen!" I've scouted birds and roosted them and things go south for what ever reason, other times I've just pulled up to a property and walked in and killed one 15 minutes after gettin 100 yards from the truck. You just never know! Good Luck!
