Title: Bow hunting turkeys

I'm seriously giving this a hard look this year because it could up my chances to 5 birds a year in IL and it will give me access to land that I'm not allowed to gun hunt.

Any tips or recommendations. I know it wont be easy and that's part of the draw too.

Good cover or a blind, limit movement be ready to hold full draw for a long time. Know your kill shot placement, you are trying to put one tiny arrow where it counts not 140 pellets.

Practice shooting your bow from a chair.
Use a blind.
If you use decoys, set a jake facing your blind where you would like to take the shot.  Typically, a gobbler will confront a jake decoy face to face and this will allow you a shot at the base of the tail (if in strut) or the backbone and vitals.
I don't like using decoys, but will if carrying my bow.

With a blind and a decoy spread, killing a turkey with a bow is not a big deal at all. Just practice your shooting and be able to hit what your shooting at.
