Title: Call Maker Tim Swift???
Post by: Dragonfly on March 07, 2011, 09:33:38 PM
I see this guys decorative carved calls all the time on ebay.  I do not know him, never spoke with him and never hear mention of his calls on the call forums.  Further more, I am not trying to push his work or generate any interest for him.  I simply have a question.

Why does he not earn more money for them, his carved calls) than he does??? The carving he does is beautiful!!!  The art alone is worth more than the calls bring in, even if they sound poorly.  I feel bad for the guy, because I know how much time it takes to do work like that.  Just curious if anyone had an answer.

His name (unknown) doesn't make his work marketible just yet??????

People don't have the extra money to spend on pretty calls??

The market for pretty calls is down????

Most guys are looking for a turkey hunting tool, instead of a pretty call????

Wish, I could be of more help...These just came to mind.

Zumer,
Yeah...I ran through the same list of excuses myself but none of them seem to fit for me. :-\  I just can't justify why he doesn't do better than he does.  I see calls on the bay out sell his that shouldn't in my opinion.  His latest ebay listing is smoking to me.  Maybe he should advertise in an art section other than call section???????? *stu*

I have one of his calls with an indian wood burned scene by his wife. It is gorgeous! The detail is amazing! His craftsmanship is impeccable. I'm sure his carving are first rate, also! Roc   *up* *up*
