Title: Aluminum strikers??

I just ran across a listing for 12' long 3/8" diameter aluminum rod for a buck a piece. Do you guys thunk that would make good striker pegs or would it be to big in diameter?

3/8" sounds a little big to me. If you find 1/4" let me know.

Tad too big! I like 1/4 or 5/16
