Now I have no intentions to tip the apple cart here guys, so give me a little lattitude if you will, but if I didn't know better I think it is safe to draw a parallel between dare I say, Marlin Watkins and Neil Cost, both remarkable innovators of their craft, but both also equally generous and totally unselfish with their time and sharing of information on call-making.  This is not the first time I have heard nor read this about Marlin and obviously it is a repeating theme in this thread with 3 call-makers who have great praise for Mr. Watkins.  We all know as it has been written extensively that Neil Cost was unbelievebly generous with sharing the gift he had.  We see his work in many fine call-makers today who were so fortunate to have worked along side him, or spend moments to pick up rare but valuable tidbits of knowledge.

This is really something and it runs deep into who these fine gentleman are all about and what they represent and who we all are who love this great sport and craft.  My hat is tipped to all the great call-makers, winners or not, to the hunters, the collectors and to those who are behind the scenes supporting this fine people so that they can continue to follow their dream and pursue their passions.

Marlin, you have touched many and you will touch more--thank you for all that you have done and will do, we are lucky to have you around looking over our shoulders.  Congratulations on all your achievemments.  Dadgummit, I knew I should have ordered a long box from Marlin before the Nationals--I'll never be able to afford one now! *cry*

thank you for all the kind words. i know that what drives all of us in our call making and collecting hobby is the greatest of all game birds that we chase. as Tom Kelly called it
"The Tenth Legion" is the finest group of folks i've been associated with. Myra and i have met some of our closest friends through my hobby of turkey hunting and call making. as to the awards i was honored and humbled by the experience and have far too many people to thank for the encouragement given me. thanks again
