Nice as a collector's piece. I can't imagine why a fella wouldn't take any pics of it as a work in progress ???
-
That is one for the ages, Steve. Magnificent. The carving is just beautiful. So, carefully and skillfully done. A real masterpiece.

Randy....this may put a different light on your question.
As a collector and owner of this call, when I commission a call I choose not to see the call in progress. I have a greater enjoyment seeing the call completed.
I'm sure if Steve had publicly posted pictures of the call I would have eventually seen them and ruined my ecxcitement. I also assume Steve wanted to show the completed masterpiece ( his #1 carved Ivory" Trumpet" ) in an atmosphere where several makers and collectors had the opportunity to handle, play and critigue his work. Believe me....EVERYONE who handled it was astounded. I am just the "Lucky" dog to have it in my possession.

Astounding isn't even a good word for describing this call. I got a chance to handle it in Nashville. Breathtaking comes to mind. Beyond great work, Steve.
