Post by: Gitzit69 on February 17, 2011, 05:04:14 PM: I just picked up this Sandhill Crane wingbone caller. It was made by Jim Groenier. Very unusual caller, you just don't a lot of these. It sounds as good as it looks.

Haven't been able to run it real good, I've got a nasty cold and sore throat going on. I think Preston posted up a couple he has a while back. I've only seen 4 of these but I'm sure there's more.

I don't make mine this long. I particularly like the mouthpiece because it is so flat. He called me the day he got his and said it sounded better than any of his other wingbones. He said it had more "pop" and was extremely easy to play. The thinness of the bones is a plus. Quite a bit thinner than turkey bones.
