Post by: M Sharpe on January 27, 2011, 03:28:47 PM
I've been seeing this show listed but never turned to it 'til last night. Any of you guys watch it? It's about the California DNR. Comes on National Geographic channel.

I watched part of it. Officer was blood trailing a deer that a poacher shot with an arrow...found the dear ...but I'll eat my hat if that dried out old deer  still had a viable blood trail..it looked like it had been dead and laying ghere at least a couple of weeks or more..certainly  didn't have a fresh blood trail.  Makes me wonder.

Doesn't it though. Some of it seemed a little far-fetched to me too. But it's packed full of action.

i have been watching it also, we live right in the general area of Oriville, where a lot of it is shot. the one with the blood trailing got me also it looked like the buck had been there for quite some time, no way a viable blood trail would show up..... cmon.... *wha*

I have yet to see where that show puts hunting in a positive light. They don't condemn it openly, but they paint a vivid picture and leave a WHOLE lot open to interpretation. It seems to me that they are setting up subliminal associations like 'hunting = poaching and look how sorry poachers are.'

I don't watch it any more.

It seems to me, that they could show some of the positive aspects of the legal hunters once in a while. We hate the poachers as much as they do. Also, we must still remember this is TV, so take it with a grain of salt! Roc  *up* *up*

Its more than that, Roc. This is a series set in Kookyfornia on the LEFT coast. They are using an proven successful formula for drawing a viewing audience and using it to sway public opinion. You can bet that there organizations like PETA, USPCA, and the Sierra Club that are having influential input in the production of these episodes, but they are getting smarter and sneakier about how they are trying to influence their audience and sway public opinion. Mark my words -- if there are more seasons of this show, those episodes will lean more and more to their point of view. This series is a nothing but a veiled propaganda push.
