We'll be waiting for some good pix.  A little early here for scouting.  But not a good walk in the woods. Great cure for the cabin fever.

Charlie what some great photos!!!  Now I gotta ask... you and Daryl appear to have the same boots.  Are those gator boots  *peep*

I'm not sure my lil 6" tall boots will stop a gator bite :(

For you gentlemen up North...you have to learn to appreciate what  Mr. Parrish is wearing on his feet in the middle of January.   ;D Nice pics Mr. Charlie. Looks like some areas for good ole spring morning turkey hunt *up*

I hear you on that.  I'm not sure those boys could handle the snow and cold weather.  I do believe those photos would be even greater enhanced with snow deep enough to go over the top of his boots  *dance*

Not only no snow, but temps in the mid seventies..I started out with a long sleeve shirt, but had to come out of it before 8:00AM.

Porter..the boots are for the wait-a-minute vines....worse than the snakes and gators. But once you walk close enough to a six foot rattler to set him off you will want a pair of snake proof hip boots...and some clean pants.

Look at that -- the trees have leaves on them.

Those pics make me want to move south.

What is a 'wait-a-minute' vine?  Help out a guy north of the Mason / Dixon line please!

Paboxcall, The oak trees here are evergreen..they shed plenty of leaves in the winter, but are never without them...right now they are raining acorns..best mast crop I've seen in ten years.

Wait -a-minute vines are probably found everywhere..here they about an eighth to a quarter inch thick with three-eights inch thorns...and strong enough to cut you through a couple of layers of clothes...we call them wait-a-minute vines because when one catches you ...you have wait a minute to untangle yourself if you don't want serious injury. Definitely can slow your progress in some areas

your right Charlie, snake boots are a must and they are really confortable. He can make all the fun of me he wants, I am wearing mine also. Too many close call with those "rattle-headed-copper-moccisins". I hate and am terrified of the $#@% things !!!

We were down that way one summer playing a new golf coarse cleared out throuh a bunch of those palemettos.  The Pro said they killed 243 rattlers while clearing the coarse.   :o  That's why I they wear those tall boots down south.

Porter, after having a 4&1/2 footer clamp down on my hand a few years ago, I can guarantee you that if he's over 6 feet long, those boots won't even slow him down! *lol* *lol*

Charlie, great pics! Sorry no sightings, but did they gobble? Did you find any sign?

Wait-a-minute vines are no bigger than a pencil and have thorwns on them..green in color and grow in a tangled mess..If you get in them it takes a minute to pull yourself free.. *lol* We have our share in Ms.  AKA = Brambles..
