So I am getting the sound quality of my pots down and now I need to get the finish nailed. I have been using CA on them and my question is how are you guys doing the bottom of the call? I have tried it with the lathe running and I have tried to wipe it on with the lathe off. I am not really happy with either method. I get circular ridges when the late is running and a dull finish when it is not. I have tried thin and medium CA and there is no difference. I am just stumped at this point Thanks in advance for you help.

Don't use CA either! Prefer Tung Oil. But if in a hurry will use a good Lacquer!

I use CA. Just put it on as the lathe is spinning at its lowest speed. Put several coats on, then sand with 400gr to get the ridges out, then again with 800gr. Stop the piece, random orbit by hand with 800gr, then EEE with the lathe spinning again, but at a faster speed.
