Title: Another Stribling
Post by: hunter22 on December 13, 2010, 03:28:35 PM
I have been anxiously waiting for this one. It is a Mohogany over Walnut tuned hen on the left side and gobbler on the right side. Great sounding call that certainly will make a wide range of turkey talk. Thanks to Mr. John Eddleman for such an awesome call. I can see me using this one next spring on some of those public land gobblers that can be so tough down in Mississippi.

Rickey, I had a young college student on another forum get with me on one of my Gator Gobbling Stiblings last year.  I showed him how to work the hen side with the gobbler side for those public hunted turkeys.   He used up the piece of chalk that came with the call and before the season started last year.  When the season was over, he had killed two fine public forrest turkeys.   --- It is deadly on public ground, mainly because they have not heard it before.   In conjuction with that gobbler it is deadly.  I have had turkeys shot out from in front of me on public land, because they have come from so far off, every turkey hunter in the area hears them too.  I have had two in homochitto killed out from in front of me, and the sorry hunters never made the first call.

John,

My son and I have had some success on those public birds in Bienville WMA. We killed a bird each the first two years we went. Thought I was pretty good. Went back the 3rd year and got an ol' fashion whipping. Saw gobblers and had two different birds strutting within 50 yds but never fired a shot. I plan to go back this spring and go back to that same swamp with your call. I have always tried the soft calling down there. Maybe I need to see if they can hear me over close to Jackson with your call.
