Day two was a more successful outing. My oldest daughter turned 14 on the 13th. We went to the Big rock food plot. This is a big granite rock outcrop on a ridge with about a 3/4 acre plot on the edge of it. Kind of a natural funnel for animals. We got to the shooting house about 1530. We sat and listened to the turkeys and squirrels most of the evening. About 1755 two does walk into the plot. We wait for the shot, at 1800 the 243 barks and the deer leave the field one with a serious limp. I couldn't find any blood where the shot was made. So the decision was made to let the deer lay over night. My son and I made the recovery this morning. Congrats Caitlyn on your 14th birthday deer!
