Title: BBD Muzzle Loader in VA.

 Took this 11 pointer this evening in VA. My oldest son hit this buck three weeks ago in archery season but never found any blood trail. This old boy didn't appear to be any worse for wear but after an examination we found where the 3 blade Rage failed to open after hitting the right shoulder and penitrated through the opposite shoulder w/ the tip of the head almost through the hide. With the head failing to open, there was little to no damgae done internally!

Congrats Bill! That's a great buck and I am glad you were able to harvest him, as well as solve a mystery which I'm sure would have haunted your son for a long time. Just goes to show how resilient an old buck can be!

My son has been fretting over that deer for three weeks. He has been out looking for him, checking for buzzards, crows,  anything to locate him w/ no luck. Then he just shows up yesterday.

Bill that is a nice deer!!!!  Great job and glad you were able to figure out what happened with the Rage too!!!

 Deer can  certainly be tough animals.
Years ago I killed a buck with my .250 that had a broadhead lodged in the spine..was completely healed over

Great deer Bill,...good job,........AGAIN,....        that's another typical rage story,..you wouldn't believe how many of them i get here at the office every year.   Isn't it amazing what a million dollars worth of marketing can make the public believe.  Tell you son to get them muzzy's or thunderheads out,...they open EVERY time.
