After a very uneventful morning me and fellow hunters Gratten Hepler and Tad Robertson decided to try our luck on a little white oak flat I'd found eariler in the year.About half way across the flat the dogs through there heads in the air and were off.Birds went everywhere. After about hour the birds began to call, a little back and forth conversation and I had my bird.It was a young of the year jake.Seeing a few birds regrouping across the flat we turned the dogs loose again for a secondary bust. This time after a little calling it was Tads turn to drop the hammer, another young jake.Going back in the morn to try to get Grattens bird and we'll be done.It comes and goes way too fast.Good luck to all that still have tags to fill.

Ron good to hear from you.Hope your seasons going well.Your right Grattens got a very good Brittany, she does a great job and my dog has learned alot from her. They hunt real good together.I've been very lucky to have Gratten so close he's really been a big help.
