Title: LATEST LONGBOX FROM SHADETREE CALLERS- CURLY MAPLE

 Here is a caller I just finished working on. I made it from a beautiful piece of curly maple. I made about a dozen of these call bodies about three years ago and I have been letting them sit for awhile. This wood is as hard as stone so I haven't completed very many . They have been sitting on a shelf for nearly 3 years , waiting on me to chisel calls from them. The lid is walnut from southern Ohio. Burled woods can be very difficult to work with but this call came out really nice and has a great sound. Starts off with a high Kee Kee and rolls over into a raspy yelp ! That's a beauty Bob! Gorgeous! I know what you mean about some of that maple, I have one on my bench that has been sitting there since February working on it off and on. Bill probably thinks I forgot about him, ;) but they do take some time ,,,,
