Title: a closer Fiddle call from Marlin
Post by: jmck on October 21, 2010, 12:03:48 PM
Well, As I was leaving Marlins....with my prize cedar Fiddle Paddle in tow....I told Marlin that I wanted a real soft calling poplar call that would finish up a bird....one that when played real soft its so sweet that an ole longbeard just couldnt resist. I asked him as he was building some to keep that in mind for me.
He smiled and came back with three poplars and handed them to me. I played the first, set it down and grabbed the second and played it ever so softly, this was just what I was looking for. Doesnt matter how soft you play it, it looses nothing in tone. Ole Amara and Marlin backed off and verified the soft tone. Well....this one had to go to a better home in the South----with me. Here it is, and its a soft playing killer !!!
Its Poplar and Canarywood.
Thanks again Marlin for a FINE call---its just what I wanted in sound !!!

Jeff, You done good.  Lets see how those 2 1/2 days went for you. First fall turkey ever and Cutter's first two kills.  One classic all cedar paddle call.  One sweet short box call. Three nights being serenaded by the Amara King all night long. 16 hour ride with your own personnal bobble head.  Sounds like fun!  Where do I sign up?

Man, Jeff........

You made out like a kid @ CHRISTmas out at Marlin's......Poor Tim got his first fall turkey, some much needed rest, a very sore neck and a DU camo hat......Oh and a call for the memories...... ;D

I'd say, you fared out pretty dog gone well........ *up*

Congrats on another fine turkey call there, Mr. Lucky......
