Title: Santa Fe #2
Post by: trumpetturner on August 22, 2010, 09:13:17 PM
One of my customers commissioned this yelper.  It is #2 in the Santa Fe series, and is composed of two colors of spirals, turquoise and coral, three spirals of each color opposing each other as they twist around the call.  There are four spirals of each color in the lipstop.  Woodburned and painted, there are 984 squares in the body and 288 squares in the lipstop.  The wood is holly and the mouthpiece is water buffalo horn.  It is hard to see the spirals without turning it, thus the three photos.  I've got to get a better tripod for my camera.  The adjustment for tilt when the camera is shooting vertical just doesn't have any fine adjustment in it (reason for slight tilt in photo).  Thanks for looking and critiques are welcome.

Nice detail work.
On a side note...if you download Picasa3, which is free Google picture editing software, you can straighten any picture in seconds, along with a host of other things.
