Title: Dry Fire

Buddy of mine went in to have his Hoyt bow tunned and re-strung the other day. While waiting for the customer in front of him to pay and leave, He thought it would be cute to draw his bow back and aim. Well, you guest it. Ca-Twang! Customers in the shop hit the deck, it was so loud. My buddy set his bow on the counter and told the owner to call him when it was re-strung. ;D Its a funny story now, but at the moment he was ready to hang himself.

That is funny! The guy on the ground....If I had been your buddy I would have walked by and said..."wimp ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO ROTFLMBO" and casually kept walking.

Holy cow... it's a wonder the limbs hadn't cracked right there.  I had a bow shop working on my bow, they pulled it back and the owners fingers slipped off the string... 

They set me up a new bow right then :P

Busted the limbs at the cam.  It was LOUD!!!!

i'd be sure to have the shop thoroughly look at the bow.  your buddy is lucky, if all he has to do is get new strings.

I had a friend {still a friend} that had a alpine but just got it all set up.. I pulled it back and yep you guessed it the thing sounded like a rifle shot ;D . The bow string split on both ends , You should of seen the look on his face, and you should of seen the look on mine *lol*. I just handed it back to him and said nice bow, then I told him to take it to the shop and have them do what ever it took and I would pay for it.  Now I dont pull back anybodys bow!!!! ROTFLMBO

them Hoyts are pretty tough bows...and i kow how ya buddie felt...i used to shoot 3d and went to a comp..first target...judged my distance set my sight drew back and held steadier than ever..smooth release and POW...no arrow... *wha*..and the bad thing is 5 people in the group and no one ever noticed i hadnt knocked an arrow... *aah* *aah* *aah*
