Title: Using a wingbone

Ok.......... the baby was crying, cats ran and hid in the basement, and the dog is shaking in the corner.........  *wha*

I need some instructions on how to better use this thing! I've read many posts here and other forums and it helps a little bit but not too much. I'm getting something between a little dog being kicked and a crow choking

His Dvd Talking Trumpet was really helpful for me. I spoke with him a few weeks back and I believe he said there is only about 12 of those left. He said they won't be offered again once those are gone. Contact him and if there all gone I'll let ya borrow mine for a bit.

Here is a link to some tips that might help as well as Alan's DVD,  http://www.lovettwilliams.com/
Practice getting and sustaining a high note, then work into dropping the jaw slightly to get the lower note, similar to using a mouth call. Most everyone learning tries to pull too much air through the call, and it does take a bit of practice as well as proper hand placement. I hold the bell of the call with my index finger and thumb, middle finger cuts off air in the bell, practice will help with this, the off hand forms a chamber to help refine the tone which is learned by experimenting and practice. Hope this helps.

Ditto on everything Dave said. You may have to play around with the lip stop as well. Different people require different lengths. Some people can play them without a lipstop. I have found this to be difficult for me. Cut back on the air and effort. As Black Falcon said try to get that high pitch, once you get that down the rest is easy.

I've got one that I have a plumbing washer on. It's not real comfortable but it serves the purpose. You can you use a rubber or cork stopper. They just help me with consistancy.

A book that talks quite a bit about suction calling is Tom Turpin's book. You can get that off lovetts site as well....... lots of knowledge in that little book
