Anyone have opinions on this model or Delta in general? I did some google research and just like any product there is good & bad opinions. If any of yall have opinions it will be appreciated.
The guy is asking $200 with stand and tools. Good price or should I save more and get somethind different?

I have seen photos of it but not in person. I work with his wife and she's making him clear the garage...... He bought it and made one baseball bat and hasn't used it since.

For the same money or a little more you could probably find a better lathe, I have the LA200 which works well for me. The lathe you are inquiring about is notorious for spindle misalignment and bearing problems, I would suggest saving your money for something better such as a newer Delta, Jet,etc

Mike, I wasn't contadicting your opinion, just pointing out this particular model had some flaws . The reeves drive was poorly engineered which results in excessive wear at high and low end speeds due to the fact it is not fully engaged. The lathe also does not have a handwheel, I would be lost without having this feature as I use it all the time for specific tasks, such as installing chucks, sanding and finishing.
I look at tools (and the schematic drawings) from the standpoint I can't afford to have breakdowns, downtime due to repair, or hard to find parts, nor do I want to fight a poorly designed machine. I certainly don't consider myself an expert on tools, I just know what I like and what I don't, and merely offered an opinion about the lathe, now if the tools are Sorbys,,,, ;)
