Ok, so I have been in the market for some slate, aluminum, or copper in some oddball sizes for about 3 months now. I haven't been able to find anything and have contacted everyone that's been suggested. So, I took the other suggestion and got a piece of slate tile.......

What the crap!?!?!?! This stuff will not split right  *aah* It's doing nuthin but breaking off in little chunks and is crooked as a goat trail.

Anyone got any other suggestions?

Here's what I'm doing. I'm making a "pot" call out of a fence post. Yeah, I know now that someone else already does this.... here's the thing, didn't know it before I started and I HAVE to finish a project before I move to another. This will be my first self made call and it's killing me! I don't even care if it calls a donkey at this point  *wha*

Here's where I buy my odd ball size slate. Call and ask for John they will havewhat you need. If I can help out farther just ask. BigTom

Thanks Big Tom, think I just got the right answer on what to do.

I tried those guys and they wanted WAY to much $$$ for what I needed. Let's just say they didn't want to mess with a little fish.

2 1/2" X 5 1/4" will get it close for the surface. I will have to cut down the soundboard

Call Mitch Rivers at Rivers Turkey Calls ....He is in the Call Builders Website listing. He has it all, very reasonable.

Grassy Creek sells a piece that's 3.5 X 5.5
I just cut mine down to size with a hacksaw *up*

i   have  cut  it  on   the   band   saw  before   and  then  touch  it   up  on  the  sander....worked pretty  good...
