(From Tony Quarino)
I would like to thank all the judges -- Rick Powell, Danny Ellis, Ron Reagan, , Kehl Hilbert, and Galen Braddy for their time and expertise in judging our first annual call contest. Also, Dewey Johnson and Tony Quarino who helped as stand-by judges in certain categories and for help in keeping the contest moving along.
There were many great calls -- thanks to all of you! It looks like the Guild WILL SURVIVE!!! It was an excellent turnout. We will post pictures and a newsletter soon!
Your calls will be mailed back to you this week. The Judges have provided feedback on each of your calls. This was something the members said they wanted. We did not, however, provide feedback for the Decorative Division because all calls in that division were beautiful.
At this time, I would like to send a special congratulations to Josh Shoemaker for winning Callmaker of the Year in the Hunting Division and Kevin Raybould for winning Callmaker of the Year in the Decorative Division -- your calls were awesome and you both have been awarded plaques for this achievement.

REMINDER - First Annual 2009 Guild Competition – Saturday, September 26th
“We are eliminating the waterfowl division for this competition ONLY (Category 13 Decorative and Category 15 Hunting).
This competition is open to everyone -- even NON-members. There is a $20 fee to enter the first call, then $15 for each additional call. Also, you must include a $5. fee to mail the calls back to you.
I have picked up the plaques and medallions and the engraver did an excellent job. Anyone who wins will be proud of their award! There are plaques for Call Maker of the Year - Hunting Division and Call Maker of the Year - Decorative Division, as well as Medallions for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and one Honorable Mention.
I am trying to make this competition as simple as possible. I have identified the judges for the competition and judging will be non-biased. We want everyone to have a chance! We will take pictures of the winning calls and awards and put all this information in a future newsletter for everyone to see.
Please help me make this competition a success! Remember, every award you win looks good when you want to sell your calls. Here's your opportunity to SHINE!
I will open every box of calls to ensure none are broken and then re-seal them for the judges.
If you are entering your call(s), make your check out to Custom Call Makers and Collectors Guild. Mail your calls to : Tony Quarino, Vice President, 4534 Rockwood Drive, Waxhaw, NC 28173.
All calls to be submitted for competition must be received NO LATER THAN Wednesday, September 16th in order to be eligible for entry.
If you have any questions, call me at 704-661-3007 - Cell or 704-843-0385 - Home.”

My home in N.C. because we don't have $400.00 for a hall. And anybody can come if they want. I don't have any more room because I have Kehl and his wife and Dewey and Allson are staying.. They are going to help out with this contest. Tony Q.
I assume the contest will be at Tony's home....I can get directions and post them.
Thanks
