Title: some mystery wood?
Post by: firedup on June 27, 2010, 09:21:06 PM: Got this chunk for a Tenn fellow. Supposed to have been salvage from a sunken river log. Mighty Mississippi maybe? The grain looks like 1/4 sawn sycamore in place but the pattern on the uncut surfaces is throwing me. Mite make an interesting project. Anyone got any ideas or seen this stuff before??

I agree Bill.....An ornamental type cherry.......those kind that bloom out real pretty in the spring.
