It is a difficult wood to wood with. I made a couple with round handles but they just don't feel right in my big hands, that and they look like everyone elses calls. This is only number 21st box call I've made and I like to build a call that says Richard built me but each to their on. This will be mine for good or bad some will like them some won't, to me the sound and function is the most important factors. I want my calls to be in the vest not the shelf. So far there is only 2 other calls that I don't still have and some of those will be firewood this fall when I'm out on the back deck smoking a cigar and having some of that white stuff, playing calls and telling lies with my freinds.

I wasn't looking for mercy, don't expect any.
My calls are mine it's just that simple. I just was stating a fact in that I played with it so much I lost what I had but revamped it some and got it sounding better (learning experence). Some may be satified with it but I still wouldn't sell it because it's not what I'm looking for in the sound department.
You see to me it's about making a call (by myself) that sounds like the turkey I have in my head. In the past I had a couple of others (that I respect) play some of my trumpets and they told me their like and dislike and I make some adjustment because the truth be told they only comfirmed what I already knew. Calls should be 1% looks and 99% sound but it just doesn't work that way I todays market.
I have alot of calls or a few compared to some people, that look good but don't cut the mustard in the sound department. The sound in your head could be and maybe is totally different than the one I'm looking for. IMO that's why some people buy different calls (looking for that sound) other buy them for gains and the call sets on the shelf until they are ready to sell (for profit). Each to their own.
I would rather sell my calls to a hunters who will be using it to Hunt with. So I would sell a call to at all. I really don't need the money, Thank God because if I was tring to make money. I would have to sell my equipment. NWTF Show has taught me that.
