Decided to broaden my horizons and try something new. These are the first two deer grunters I have ever made, my son laid claim to #1, which is a persimmon barrel and a bloodwood insert

This is #2, a redwood bur barrel and a figured maple insert

Nice work Lee! You must have some beautiful wood kicking around in your shop, you always make some beauties!
Whatever happened to Herman, your pet snake? I take it he left the building,,,You must have scared the heck out of him, as much as he startled you,, I still think of that from time to time, I bet you do too when in the shop barefoot,,,,, ROTFLMBO

Good question Dave, I like to think he left of his on accord due to lack of food. I fear though that the rats were just too much for him and scared him off *aah* He was definitely a big S.O.B!!!!
Here was the last one I finished last night. Figured maple barrel and padauk insert
